Work From Home Entrepreneur/Employee
 My unplanned journey down the rabbit hole that lead me to EquiBala...
I was always active from the time that I was a little kid. I played soccer, basketball, raced BMX bikes, threw shot put & discus on the track team, and even lifted weights "semi-seriously" as I grew up.

I really enjoyed the rush of sports and pushing my body to increase my competitive edge while also discovering what I could "really" do...

As I got older and stopped playing sports, I continued my passion for fitness and movement by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer.

I was already working out quite a bit in my local gyms, and had many people approaching me about "how to workout" or "am I doing the form right" sort of topics quite frequently, so it seemed like a very natural progression to start a career earning money to show people how to do what I had been doing for years...

Over the next 7 years I was fortunate enough to train hundreds of people on the processes, mindsets, accountability factors, and tools needed to create positive daily habits in their lives which could be sustained as part of a permanent lifestyle shift towards consistent health maintenance!
  I was "forced" to learn the art of sales and marketing during this time...
This was incredibly necessary to sell my services, and ultimately "survive" as personal trainer...

It was during this time that I was introduced to and flourished in the worlds of network & internet marketing as I pursued my desire to create automation in my earnings while helping others find solutions to the problems in their lives...

I ended my personal training career with the intention of taking over our family's roofing company with my brother as my dad planned his retirement strategy, but since I only knew a little bit about roofing, I decided the quickest way to learn was to do roofing.
  I jumped in head first...
I was quickly burning tens of thousands of calories per day as our small team of 5-6 guys removed and replaced 5-10 tons (yeah 10,000-20,000 lbs.) of material to tear off and replace a roof on the average home. (We were doing 3-4 houses per week!)

After a couple years of avoiding the inevitable fate of falling off the scorching hot roofs and killing myself, I was offered the opportunity to expand my entrepreneurial spirit in a new way through a position as a technical support specialist at a "startup" company offering marketing software...

As much as I loved the "storybook" idea of joining forces with my brother to be the next generation of roofers, I was at a point where I had to be honest with my lack of passion and fulfillment for what I was doing every day...

  I decided to make a left turn in life, & move into a brand new field of being a "stay at home employee"...
My new career immediately changed the amount of movement I naturally had every day over the last few years as I regularly sat at my desk for hours on end throughout my 8-14 hour work days. (Yes, I was working a lot of extra hours to learn a whole new world I had never worked in before)

I tried many ideas to overcome this "immobility" by going for regular walks, getting a gym membership, and many other activities that I (for whatever reason) couldn't find time to fit into my daily grind. 

I continuously found myself not able to stay dedicated to the things that worked for me in the past to be active, and that I simply didn't have the "time" for now.

I struggled with consistency in my activity level because I wasn't always motivated to "exercise" by myself at home, and going to the gym took a lot time time to get ready, drive there, warm up, stretch, workout, cool down, drive home, shower, and then get back to life...

Since starting my "Work At Home" career I've consistently seen my health decline as I've gained weight, lost muscle mass/endurance, reduced lung capacity, etc. because of my daily decisions to not get up and move around!
  After gaining nearly 50 lbs. in 3 years, I finally told myself "enough is enough"...
I had to find a way to get active again that didn't require a lot of time, would systematically keep me moving through the otherwise "inactive" day at my job, and simultaneously meld this new activity method with a burning passion that would motivate me to get out of bed, start my day with movement, and become a tiny bit better than I was yesterday!

Plus, I needed some sort of accountability partner to keep me from getting bored, making an excuse, or just simply giving up on continuing to get some type of activity everyday.

I figured that if I just did a single set of 10-20 reps of the same exercise at the top of every hour throughout the 8-10 hours ad day that I work Monday-Friday but change which exercise I'm doing each day that I could consistently do 80-200 reps, work on specific parts of my body throughout the week, and still not take much time away from the rest of my day to do it....
  It only takes 1-2 minutes per hour to complete the each set...
I also knew that I had to do these "top of the hour" workouts with someone else so that I wouldn't be able to quit nearly as easily, but since I work by myself at home I had to get creative...

Ultimately I decided to just tell my team at work about my plan to workout each hour, and see if any of them wanted to get an hourly reminder notification to do the workout "with me" but from wherever they were also working remotely at the time.

This ended up being the best decision I could have made, as it became the driving factor behind me having to be there to support the other participants, and design the entire program as we worked through it together...
  And so the EquiBala program was born...
Once I got started with this simple hourly workout, I was hooked!

The hourly break up in my work day helped me in more ways than I could have imagined...

I got up and away from my desk on a regular basis, got my blood pumping, corrected my posture, rested my eyes, and even incorporated drinking 8 oz. of water after each set as part of each hour!

It also gave me the motivation to put this program together in a structured format that anyone working from home could follow, do from anywhere, complete without buying any equipment, and inspire those experiencing the same "immobility" in their daily work routines that it's possible to still stay on task at work and keep yourself moving throughout the day...
